Monday: In small groups, have them read about the three branches of government. Fill out flipbook while they read.
Tuesday: The class will be divided into two groups: Federalist and Anti federalists. Using a website provided in google classroom each group will create a slideshow that shows their side's argument either for or against the ratification of the Constitution. Do the Federalist vs Anti federalist debate assignment.
Wednesday: We will use our slideshows to debate the ratification of the Constitution. If time, we will then take both sides into consideration and write an essay taking one side and using evidence from the website to create an essay.
Thursday: Finish essay.

Tuesday: Discuss the Issues of Slavery. pg. 200-201. Read about the Constitutional Convention and take notes over 202. Homework: Chapter 7 Section 2 Voc. due Wednesday

Monday: Split into 7 groups and read and take notes over assigned section of the Articles of Confederation.
Tuesday: Each group will write out on a large sheet of paper, in their own words:
-What are the five most important facts about the creation of our first national government? You are looking for structure and function.
-Place a title/category/classification at the top of the paper that summarizes the type of information you included from your section.
Each group will choose a reporter, who will explain the title and information provided on the paper to the class.
Wednesday: We will finish reporting out. Each group will be allowed 5 minutes to read/view each paper. As students walk around the room, they will create a T-Chart of strengths and weaknesses of the Articles of Confederation
Thursday: Finish T chart. As a class we will discuss the strengths and weaknesses that we discovered. T-Charts will be collected and graded.

Tuesday: We will break up into 7 groups. Each group will be assigned one source of conflict that led to the Revolutionary War. We will go over note taking and citing sources. Individually students will start their research on their topic.
Wednesday: In our groups we will research our assigned topic for the cause, effect, and how it led to the Revolution.
Tuesday: We will continue to research making sure we are citing our sources. Introduce the skit.
Thursday: In our partners, we will work out a group skit.
Friday: Work on skit.

Monday: The students will assume the role of someone from one of these colonial powers: Great Britain, France, Spain or the Netherlands. They will explain and justify their reasons for exploring and settling in North America. Students can present their justifications through a role play in front of the class and the class will determine if the reasons were economic or religious. Students can also write their justifications as an editorial for a newspaper.
Tuesday: Continue to work on our role plays or editorials. Due tomorrow.

They will explain and justify their reasons for exploring and settling in North America. Students can present their justifications through a role play in front of the class and the class will determine if the reasons were economic or religious. Students can also write their justifications as an editorial for a newspaper.

Friday: Continue research and write a conclusion paragraph about how geography did influence the chosen event.
